Sew Twists and Ties: Sewing Community Inspiration

I wanted to share some Sew Twists and Ties inspiration from the sewing community...

I could write posts and posts heralding the beautiful twist, tie and knot projects from members of our talented sewing community. To keep it more reasonable, though, I've narrowed it down to a few of the patterns and projects that sparked me to devise of the Sew Twists and Ties challenge in the first place!

If you want a longer listing of patterns fitting the theme, check out my round-up post. And if you want to have a look at the Sew Twists and Ties projects from the sewing community as they come in, head over to Instagram and have a look at the hashtag!

The McCall's 7429 knit twist dress pattern has been around for a couple of years, so there are a ton of truly stunning projects made from it that have been shared in the sewing community. Here are some of my favorites:

Brittany's classic blue version is just delightful.

Sylvia's red version is drop dead gorgeous!

Amber's bright and cheerful printed version is perfect for everyday wear.

Cristy's luxurious blue velvet version was a holiday highlight!

The Trend Patterns TCP 18 Twist Dress really caught my eye after I saw Jess's chestnut orange version... that's the one that made me buy the pattern immediately!

Erica's blue version is so summery and fresh!

I've had the Itch to Stitch Nottingham Top in my stash for a while now, and am so pumped to have an excuse to sew it up! These are some of my favorite Nottinghams:

Deb of Stitches and Seams turned her Nottingham into a faux dress by making a matching skirt.

Camelia of Calcedonia Sewing made not one, but two gorgeous Nottinghams.

Aimee of the Sewing Scientist also has several stunning printed Nottinghams under her belt.

The tie version of Megan Nielsen's Jarrah Sweater pattern is pretty adorable. Check out these tied up Jarrahs:

Holly Darling's simple grey version just hits the nail on the head.

Heidi of Handmade Frenzy is just so cute in her rib knit Jarrah!

Megan's own dusty pink version is perfectly pretty and perfectly cozy.

Love the contrasting cuffs and neckband on this Jarrah from Jen at The Gingerthread Girl.

The Style Arc Sadie Tunic has the most stunning twisted and knotted sleeves... have a gander at these inspirational versions:

Nancy's textured and two-toned magenta version is to die for.

Anna's mustard linen version, and her styling choices, are everything. Ev-er-y-thing.

The embroidery on Bird's white linen Sadie is just so romantic.

Meg's Sadie is marbled silk. Silk! Sigh.

The Papercut Patterns Merdian Dress seems like such a stylish and versatile pattern to me... these are some of my favorite versions so far:

Kirsten has made a gorgeous floral Atelier Brunette version of the Meridian. Perfect combo!

I can't resist a chartreuse green linen and I love this Meridian from The Fabric Store.

I never would have paired plaid with the Meridian pattern, but now it's all I can think about after seeing Alisha's summery version!

Trine is always such a stunner... she has a knack for picking the right fabric and color, particularly for this Meridian dress!
