Back in the Saddle: Flannel LB Pullover

My first project in my new house and new sewing space, and my first project of 2022!

I decided to christen the new sewing space with a quick and simple project, a boxy top. Namely, the Paper Theory LB Pullover

The LB Pullover is wide and boxy jumper with a relaxed fit and low dropped shoulders. I'd say it's somewhat cropped- like it hits at high hip- which I think gives it a nice balance.

Historically I resisted buying this pattern since I'm pretty flush with boxy top patterns, but as a connoisseur of boxy tops, I felt it was my duty to make one and report back nonetheless.

Plus I've seen so many lovely versions of this pattern online, with many folks making it again and again, and I generally enjoy sewing Paper Theory patterns. Bonus: this boxy top can be made in medium- or low-stretch knits or wovens, which is fun.

For my LB Pullover, I used a beautiful red shetland flannel that I bought from a recently launched fabric shop here in Vermont, Stash Fabric. Super soft and cozy, and I love the herringbone weave. And always happy to support a local sewing-related business!

I opted for the turtleneck view, which in the woven fabric, means it's cut on the bias.

My LB Pullover is a size 22 which aligned with my measurements. The pattern goes up to size 28, which is a 56" bust and 57.5" hip. I'm happy with the fit; it seems spot on for my measurements.

A pretty good start to sewing in my new space!

(Sorry for the terrible photos, still figuring out where to take them at my new place! And winter light is tough.)
