Purple Polly

A project from last year finally making an appearance on the blog!

I made this By Hand London Polly top for my sister last summer, but we never got around to taking photos of it. However, she recently discovered that her back yard is the perfect senior picture/blog photo backdrop (see also: striped Halifax), with its picturesque trees and their seasonally appropriate colors (despite the fact that this is a seasonally inappropriate garment).

This is the third time I've sewn up the (free!) Polly pattern (see also: Polly for mePolly for Colleen).  It's a great little tank top pattern, ideal for colorblocking. I also love how the bust shaping is built into the little front panel so there are no darts.

This particular Polly is made from some floral Liberty-esque quilting weight cotton from Belleboo, paired with coordinating Kona cotton. I used some packaged floral bias tape from Daiso to bind the neckline and armholes.

My sister wears it well... the wood pile approves!:
