Testing, testing: Tilly and the Buttons Ness Skirt (and a giveaway!)

Today I've got my tester version of one of the latest patterns from Tilly and the Buttons, the Ness skirt... and a giveaway, too!

Tilly describes the Ness skirt as "a classic fly front skirt that looks great in denim, corduroy, jacquard and more!"

Ness has a fitted shape and can be made as a mini or a below-the-knee skirt with
center front split. The shaped waistband sits on the natural waist and it has a curved back yoke, seams in center front and back, zip fly, belt loops and jean-style pockets.

My tester version originally started as a size 8, but ultimately I took it to a size 7 on the side seams because my denim is quite stretchy and my measurements put me between the two sizes.

Fit-wise, I could probably use a full belly adjustment, but eh, I'll probably cover the top part with a shirt or sweater most of the time! Next time I might also take in the center back seam a little bit below the bum so it hugs in there, rather than hanging straight down off my butt.

The denim I used is black stretch denim left over from my Birkin Flares from many years ago. It made have had too much stretch for this pattern, but it still worked out ok!

I skipped the back pockets and belt loops for a sleek look.

I think the skirt is really cute! I love the front slit, in particular, and think the Ness will be pretty awesome addition to my handmade wardrobe.

Lucky for you I've got a giveaway for a lucky reader! I've got hard copies of both of Tilly's new patterns, the Ness and the Nora. Enter to win below!
