Sweater Knit Cashmerette Tobin

It's sweater weather, y'all!

It's sweater weather here in Vermont and I'm on it, big time.

Conveniently, Cashmerette's latest pattern, the Tobin Sweater, is precisely what I plan to wear all fall and winter... cozy and cowl-necked. It's just my style for the cold months.

Hart's Fabric sent me this pretty Topaz sweater knit to play with and it was perfect for the Tobin sweater. It's a poly/rayon/spandex blend that's kind of heathered and super soft. It's got a really nice drape and stretch.

I chose this awesome acid green color- vibrant and fun! It's not quite up in Hart's shop yet, but the Topaz knit comes in lots of other lovely colors, too, that are already available (or if this green is not your jam). I am fully aware it's not everyone's jam, but I could wear it everyday and feel happy.

This is View B of the Tobin Sweater, the version with a high-low hem, long hemmed sleeves, and the big cozy cowl neck (which I am apparently smelling in the photo below?!).

I cut a size 16 C/D, which worked great. I love how the Tobin has bust darts (and Cashmerette's signature cup sizes) to get a really nice shape for curvy folks.

I made a few minor construction changes to my Tobin: I understitched the cowl to keep the seam from rolling outwards, and topstitched the neckline seam down towards the body to flatten it. I also took a slightly deeper hem, so it mirrored the hems on the sleeves.

Ack, I love my Tobin so much! It will definitely be a cool weather staple, and this green sweater knit is so much fun. I am looking forward to trying the other views, too. Mixing and matching some of those fun, interchangeable details and colorblocking are certainly on the agenda.

By the way, this meme has been in my head for like a month now... anyone else?
