Basic black... a wardrobe workhorse that's impossible to photograph!
I've been needing a new pair of casual black pants since the black cotton twill Free Range Slacks I made several years back have been worn almost to death.
They're faded, have multiple holes and rips, and I've replaced the elastic and waist facing multiple times. Well loved!
I really loved the Muna and Broad Eileen Barrel Pants I made in 2025, so I decided to use that pattern again.
This is my third time making these pants; I really love this pattern.
The Eileen Barrel Pants pattern is an elastic waist pant with a slight barrel leg shape. The pattern has back and front patch pockets, a faux-fly, and a dropped crotch.
The fabric is a medium-weight cotton twill from Stash in black. I believe it's the same fabric as my caramel twill Eileen Barrel Pants- a lovely fabric with a lovely sheen.
It does attract cat hair, though, I have learned:
My other versions of the Eileen pants, although lovely, are short enough and show enough ankle that they are relegated to warm weather only pants.
I always lengthen my Glebe pants by 2 inches, so I'm not sure why I didn't do that with the Eileen pants from the beginning!
