Testing, Testing: Greenwood Tank

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to test the new Greenwood tank pattern, a lovely knit tank from Straight Stitch Designs

I was really excited for a chance to try out what promised to be a solid wardrobe basic, especially after my Me-Made-May wardrobe analysis indicated that I am missing just these types of layering pieces.

This is my tester version (in a not-very-basic neon striped jersey from Girl Charlee a couple years ago). I got a pretty great fit with no changes to the pattern. Next time I might take an inch or two off the length, but otherwise am quite happy with it as is!

I made the version with the higher back, but there is an option for a lower, scooped back, similar to the front.

The pattern includes instructions for doing a cool knit binding, a method I've never used before, but really liked. It's pretty flexible, though, in that you could also do a regular t-shirt style binding for a different look.

I am really pumped about the Greenwood pattern... I'm planning to cut out a few in solid colors like black, white and navy to serve as layering pieces under a blazer or cardigan.
