Testing, testing: Cashmerette Webster Top

Party in the back!!

Today I'm sharing my tester version of the latest pattern from Cashmerette: the Webster top and dress! So many great pattern releases this week, huh?!

The Webster is a cute little tank top or dress meant to be made from silky, drapey fabrics. Perfect for summer, or for layering under a blazer or cardigan in cooler weather. Webster is a very quick to sew with elegant results!

It's got a gorgeous v-shaped back and front necklines, with thick straps to cover your bra straps, as well as some interesting cross-back straps that make it a full-on party in the back. I am convinced, though, that it would look equally fabulous without the small straps, too.

The curved, high-low hem has a great shape and the drape floats over the belly and hip areas, which I love.

For my Webster test version, I went with a rayon challis remnant in my stash left over from my McCall's 6083 jumpsuit. Rayon challis is perfect for this tank.

The sizing is Cashmerette's normal range, from 12-28, in three cup sizes (C/D, E/F, G/H). This is a size 14 C/D graded out to a 16 at the hip.

Since testing, the only major change is that rather than finish the neckline with a facing and the armscye with bias tape, as I did here, there is now an all-in-one facing, which I think is awesome! I love all in one facings. They're the neatest finishing...

On me the darts are a bit low, but that's my only quibble. It seems to be the main alteration I need to make to Cashmerette patterns that have a single bust dart. I have the same issue on the Springfield top, but it's a quick fix.

I'm excited to have this simple, silky cami pattern in my pattern collection... can't wait to make another! I've got a few nice (albeit small) pieces of silk that I've picked up in my fabric shopping journeys that will pair beautifully with the Webster top pattern. The dress is gorgeous, too, and is quickly moving its way up my sewing queue!
