So, back to the Fishsticks Playhouse Dress: freaking cute, folks.
The little curved bodice, dramatic, swingy skirt and puff sleeves... adorable. Plus, you can sew it up in all knit fabrics or in a mix of knit and woven fabric, like I did here. Lots of opportunities for fun fabric combos!

My fabrics: some cute pink and white striped knit from my mom's vintage stash combined with a fun quilting cotton from Belleboo here in Bangkok.
This dress is really fun to put together. I did my whole dress on the serger, pretty much. The only part that gave me a little trouble was easing the puff sleeves into the sleeve bands. My knit fabric wasn't very stretchy, so I ended up sewing a gathering stitch around the edge of the sleeve to get it to fit the band and basting it before serging. Otherwise, no troubles whatsoever. A super quick and adorable dress!
