I'm pretty jazzed to share my scrapbuster Geodesic sweatshirt with you!

Batik McCall's 6044

You know your sewing obsession is infecting others around you when your husband comes back from a business trip with a piece of fabric and says "So... I saw this fabric and thought you might be able to make me a shirt from it?"

Me-Made-May 2017: Mid-Month Roundup

Here's the mid-month update on my Me-Made-May pledge (in which you see how infrequently I bother to dry/do my hair in Bangkok's heat)! I've been sharing daily in Instagram stories, but here is the first half of the month all in one place.

Wearable Muslin: Liesl + Co Classic Shirt in Seersucker

I've really liked working with Liesl + Co patterns in the past, and I'm still on the hunt for the perfect basic buttondown, so I was pretty excited when she recently released the Classic Shirt.

Sew Sew Def Saldana T-shirt

I was curious about the new Mimi G digital sewing magazine, Sew Sew Def. So, after I confirmed that the accompanying pattern came in my size (the size charts weren't available on the website; now the finished garment measurements are up), I bought the first issue!

Me-Made-May 2017

It's that time of year again... Me Made MayCreator Zoe describes it as follows:
"Me-Made-May'17 (#MMMay17 for social media interaction) is a challenge designed to encourage people who sew/knit/crochet/refashion/upcycle garments for themselves to wear and love them more."

Bonn Shirtdress in Crepe

My friend (and number 1 blog fan) Colleen asked me if I could make her a couple of garments. She has a brand new job on a brand new coast and thus needed some brand new duds to wear for work (and for looking pensive with her pup, Hank):

Style Arc Riley Coat in Local Wool from Organic Cotton Plus

Sewing coats is one of my goals this year. I've started checking other goals off the list... Curvy Pants Month helped make a dent in my leg coverings ambitions and I recently tried and loved my experience with the Sewing Workshop, so there's a bit of new-to-me done and dusted. Coat making was the obvious next step.

Sewcation Outfit 1: Toaster Sweater and Margaret Pant

I just sent my mom off to the airport after a lovely three weeks. She came to town to hang out and we divided our time between traveling (Mandalay and Bagan, Myanmar plus a few days at the beach in southern Thailand), sightseeing, eating and, of course, sewing.

Fish Shirt: McCall's 6044

I know I am not supposed to buy quilting cotton for garment making, but every once in a while I can't resist a quilting cotton print.

PJ Party: Sewaholic Tofino and Simplicity 1605

Recently, when my sister was visiting me, she saw me wearing my Tofino pajama pants (which are now almost two years old and quite faded from frequent use!) and said "Ooooooh, I like those!"

Simplicity 1318 Kimono Jacket

My sister just finished a visit with me in Bangkok. While she was here, we went shopping at Chatuchak, the weekend market, and she pointed out one of those loose fitting kimono-esque jackets... of course, as every sewist does, I said "I can make that!" rather than have her try on and purchase one for $5 at the market.

Pattern Hack and Tutorial: Flat Elastic Waist Lazo Trousers

I am really excited to share this pattern hack and tutorial with you today! So excited that I wanted to share it immediately, so it's jumping the queue ahead of several other projects...

I've hacked Thread Theory's recently released Lazo Trousers to have a flat elastic waistband!

Talvikki, Take 1

I don't typically post works in progress here, opting to post only the finished products, but I thought this could benefit from a few more eyes!

Paddleboat Studio Mitchell Dress

I basically stalked Hannah at Paddleboat Studio as she posted sneak peeks of the Mitchell pattern on Instagram, biding my time until I could jump on the opportunity to test it or buy it or do basically whatever necessary to get the pattern into my hot little hands as soon as possible!
