You know your sewing obsession is infecting others around you when your husband comes back from a business trip with a piece of fabric and says "So... I saw this fabric and thought you might be able to make me a shirt from it?"

Here's the mid-month update on my Me-Made-May pledge (in which you see how infrequently I bother to dry/do my hair in Bangkok's heat)! I've been sharing daily in Instagram stories, but here is the first half of the month all in one place.

I was curious about the new Mimi G digital sewing magazine, Sew Sew Def. So, after I confirmed that the accompanying pattern came in my size (the size charts weren't available on the website; now the finished garment measurements are up), I bought the first issue!

I'm the anchor leg on the Indiesew Spring/Summer Collection blog tour! I'm really excited to share my project with you! It was a labor of love and I am so delighted with how it turned out...

My friend (and number 1 blog fan) Colleen asked me if I could make her a couple of garments. She has a brand new job on a brand new coast and thus needed some brand new duds to wear for work (and for looking pensive with her pup, Hank):

The last, but not least, outfit in my mom's sewcation wardrobe is the perfectly summery combination of a striped Hot Patterns Fast and Fabulous Shirt Tail T and a pair of white Style Arc Elle pants.

My mom's third sewcation outfit will work perfectly for late spring and early summer...!

Sewing coats is one of my goals this year. I've started checking other goals off the list... Curvy Pants Month helped make a dent in my leg coverings ambitions and I recently tried and loved my experience with the Sewing Workshop, so there's a bit of new-to-me done and dusted. Coat making was the obvious next step.

My mom's second sewcation outfit (see her first here!) will help her transition through spring... a Grainline Studio Morris Blazer!

I just sent my mom off to the airport after a lovely three weeks. She came to town to hang out and we divided our time between traveling (Mandalay and Bagan, Myanmar plus a few days at the beach in southern Thailand), sightseeing, eating and, of course, sewing.

Recently, when my sister was visiting me, she saw me wearing my Tofino pajama pants (which are now almost two years old and quite faded from frequent use!) and said "Ooooooh, I like those!"

This is the latest pattern from Helen's Closet, the Blackwood Cardigan. I was a tester for this new pattern, which is definitely a fabulous wardrobe staple!

Another Curvy Pants Month make! I am on a roll. Making pants, meeting sewing goals, kicking ass. Or something.
Sunday, February 12, 2017
My sister just finished a visit with me in Bangkok. While she was here, we went shopping at Chatuchak, the weekend market, and she pointed out one of those loose fitting kimono-esque jackets... of course, as every sewist does, I said "I can make that!" rather than have her try on and purchase one for $5 at the market.

Today I have a post up on Imagine Gnats sharing my Style Arc Kim Swing Top, made from a lovely rayon lycra jersey in the perfect red! Go check it out!

I am really excited to share this pattern hack and tutorial with you today! So excited that I wanted to share it immediately, so it's jumping the queue ahead of several other projects...

Since my sewing goals for the year include making pants and the Curvy Sewing Collective's Curvy Pants Month starts in a few days, I sewed up some pants!

Gabriela of Chalk and Notch reached out to me to test her first foray into women's patterns, the Waterfall Raglan, and I was honored to join in the fun!

I don't typically post works in progress here, opting to post only the finished products, but I thought this could benefit from a few more eyes!

I basically stalked Hannah at Paddleboat Studio as she posted sneak peeks of the Mitchell pattern on Instagram, biding my time until I could jump on the opportunity to test it or buy it or do basically whatever necessary to get the pattern into my hot little hands as soon as possible!
