Fleece Lined Taylor Trousers

Say, Meg, didn't you just make a pair of deep olive Taylor Trousers?

Yes, yes, I did. But these are different! They're fleece lined!

Well, they're not lined exactly, but made with fleece-backed twill fabric, a rare gem of a fabric I found at The Makery, a local second-hand craft supply store that opened up here in Vermont.

I was so pumped to find this fabric! I believe it's a deep brown cotton (or maybe cotton blend) twill on the exterior, with a soft, electric green poly fleece on the interior. The green fleece shows through a bit on the exterior, giving the fabric a bit of a green, iridescent glow, so the pants read more olive green than brown.

I used the BF Patterns Taylor Trousers pattern again, obviously. It worked so well for me before, despite my sizing error. This time I went with a size 20, which was perfect. The flat front, View B option.

I used a pretty green, white and pink Indonesian batik from my stash for the pockets and the waistband binding. I used a pink thread in my serger (don't look too closely at my serging- something is going wrong with it and the loops are not catching every stitch... need to figure that out!).

I finished it off with a heavy duty snap as a closure.

These pants are cozy and are an absolute necessity for bitter cold Vermont winters like the one we just had.  We'll call these my winter Taylor trousers, and my previous pair my 3-season Taylor Trousers. Love them both!
