Sew Twists and Ties: Pattern Round-up

Some pattern inspiration for my sewing challenge, Sew Twists and Ties!

I'm sure I haven't captured all the sewing patterns that include a twist, knot or cool integrated tie, but this is a pretty good crop... it's an epic post! I've tried to include indie patterns and Big 4, in both PDF and paper formats, to ensure I'm providing options in everyone's preferred medium. There's plenty of inspirational eye candy to get you started on your Sew Twists and Ties journey here!

The joy of many of these patterns is that, although they look complicated, most are pretty simple to sew. They also vary widely and include knit and woven patterns, dresses, tops, pants, skirts and even swimsuits and lingerie! So many options...

If you want more inspiration, head over to check out #SewTwistsandTies on Instagram. I've tagged a couple older projects of mine that fit the theme, and we're already seeing some in-progress and finished projects from the community popping up there, too!

  6. Great roundup of patterns! I may go "frosting" and make the Sierra jumpsuit...but there's a number of more practical choices. I just may need to sew two!

  10. Gosh, there's quite an array here. I've made one of these (McCall's 7381) and plan to remake Butterick 4789 (not on your list) with more suitable fabric. Thank you. Plenty of inspiration.

  11. Wow. I didn't realize it, until you verbalized "twists and ties" - this is something I'm drawn to in a pattern :) I have a number of these patterns; and pining for sister-patterns Papercut's Meridien and Stylearc's Hattie, and the new Simplicity 8848. So THANK YOU for putting them all into one place :)
