Now that I've shared the "hard pants" I made recently, here are some softer pants!
These are the Chalk and Notch Reya pattern. The Reya is a wide-leg pants and shorts pattern with a front pin tuck detail, elastic waist and both high-rise and mid-rise options.
I chose the size 20 pants in the higher rise, which fit great. The Reya pattern comes with four different inseam cutting lines. I thought 28 inch would be too short, so I initially cut the 30 inch. But that was too long, so I ended up in the middle with a 29 inch inseam, perfect with a small heel.
I included Reya's back patch pockets. but I skipped the in-seam pockets for a smooth look at the hip. Personal preference.
I also skipped the drawstring at the waist for a cleaner look.
For fabric, I went with a deadstock brown wool blend tweed with specks of different colors in it, purchased from Lyrical Fabrics during a recent sale. Perfect drape for the Reya trousers.
I love these pants! So wearable with the elastic waist, but I feel like the pintuck detail and crisp wool tweed really elevate them. I think I will wear these a ton.
I already wore these Reya pants for a Christmas gathering with my red silk velvet Nicks blouse and felt very comfy and chic. Here I'm wearing them with my Love Number Sweater.
