Tim had a boys trip to the beach last month, so I made him a ridiculous two-piece set for beach bumming, and then made him take photos of it in the snow.
I've had this piece of tropical reef fish fabric for years, since we lived in Bangkok and did a ton of scuba diving where we saw these reef fish friends on the regular.
I *think* the fabric is a linen/rayon blend of some sort. Slubby, linen-y texture, but rayon drape.
For Tim's two-piece set, I opted for two tried-and-true patterns I've made for him a million times. Can't go wrong.
The McCall's 6044 shirt pattern (20 plus versions of this pattern over the last 11 years!), a classic button up.
The shorts are the Elbe Textiles Trigg Shorts (see all my previous versions here), elastic waist shorts with a side seam pocket that I love and a little back patch pocket.
Honestly, the two piece set was a little bit of a joke; I didn't think he'd actually wear the shirt and shorts together. It's a lot of look.
But wouldn't it be amazing if he did?!
He'll get a ton of wear out of both pieces as separates, for sure.
