Outfits in Action

It's super fun for me to see my handiwork in action, particularly when modeled by such a cute kid. 

So much better than just looking at it on the hanger!

Here's Miss Z, rocking (quite literally) her goose fabric dress (from the free Junebug pattern at Craftiness is not Optional) on Mother's Day.  Adorable:

And here she is in her flowered overalls, mixing, matching, playing, pigtailing... I may have to make another pair with longer legs! Or perhaps a shorts version?

Duck, Duck, Goose

Using some old-school bow-wearing geese fabric from the Real Martha, this free, downloadable Junebug dress pattern from Craftiness is not Optional (there's also a tutorial on how to put the dress together!), and the pink buttons I bought on my adventure to Pasar Mayestik here in Jakarta, I made this cute goose dress for Miss Zoe.

Pretty simple construction and design and a totally cute end product.  I did have a little trouble lining up all those buttonholes, but otherwise it was straightforward. 

The geese on the fabric are a bit twee, but I think the grey background tones it down a bit, no?
