Testing, testing: Concord T-Shirt

Hey all! Here's my tester version of the latest Cashmerette pattern, the Concord T-shirt!

This pattern is pretty great. It's not just a t-shirt pattern; it has an insane amount of options.

In addition to Cashmerette's signature three cup sizes, the Concord has three hem lengths (cropped, mid or long with a curved and split hem), three necklines (high, V neck, or scoop), three sleeve lengths (short, medium, or long), two sleeve finishes (cuffed or hemmed), and optional sleeve tabs. Phew.

For my tester version, I went with a pretty basic tee... my version is the C/D cup, scoop neck, medium length, hemmed version.

I looove the neckline and the fit in the body, which I think is fitted but not clingy. I think next time I might give my guns a bit more room by widening and lengthening the sleeves just slightly.

The fabric is Kaufman Laguna cotton jersey in Tangerine from the Imagine Gnats shop (affiliate link), a great weight and amount of recovery for the Concord

Can't wait to make another version of the Concord! I'm eyeing the longer, curved hem and those fun tab sleeves. I am so happy to have such a useful pattern in my stash so I can make an arsenal of basic tees!!

  4. DANG. The fit is amazing, Meg! A lot of my me-made t-shirts show signs of needing a FBA, like a little wrinkle around the armpit like it almost wishes it was darted? But I never do it, because OMG, it's an effing t-shirt, people. But a t-shirt made for larger cup sizes? That might be the holy grail for me.

    1. Thanks, Inder!! I felt the same way- I could get away with other t-shirts, but the fit on this one is so nice, why would I?

  5. Looks great and love that color. How did you find the sizing (other than cup?) I was debating about the pattern - seeing yours I just HAD to order both! Thanks for sharing your sources. I am in serious need of solid T shirts in fun colors and white and now you have inspired me to get sewing before it gets too hot.

    1. Thanks!! I found the sizing chart to be pretty accurate - based on the chart I went with a 14 C/D on top and a 16 at the hip, which was a good fit! Close, but not tight.

I feel you about needing solid tees- basics are a necessity! Hope you enjoy the pattern!!

    2. Thank you for the review and size details - very helpful! I have an Appleton dress in progress, but was guessing on the size... not far enough along for a fit check yet, limited time for sewing of late.
