Sybil Sweatshirt in Ponte

For some reason this new pattern from Just Patterns just spoke to me; I bought it and made it during the pattern release week.

This is the Sybil Sweatshirt, a new pattern from Just Patterns. Sybil is an oversized knit pullover with a wide lapel collar and a deep V-neck.

I cut a size 52 for my Sybil. The pattern goes up to a size 60, which is for a 57.5 inch bust.

I think next time I would size down to a 50. I like it, but it's quite oversized, especially the sleeves. I could see narrowing and shortening the sleeves a bit on my next one. The sleeves look best rolled up a bit, currently, I think.

The Sybil pattern is designed for stable, medium-weight knits with structure and recovery. I used a rich blue rayon/nylon/lycra ponte I bought last year from Stash; the remnant I had purchased was the exact amount needed for the Sybil. Kismet.

This pattern is quite quick to sew, and very satisfying. It definitely takes a bit of slow sewing to get the neckline right, but it's such a lovely detail and the rest of the garment comes together so quickly.

I'm really happy with my Sybil! It looks great over a button-up shirt for wearing to work. Comfy, but polished because of that cool neckline.

Paired here with a Jenna shirt and Taylor trousers.
