I know, I know, another pair of Taylor Trousers? And a wool pair with spring right around the corner?
Yes, but we just got another inch of snow last night, so there is still time for these winter pants.
I've been enjoying making this pattern, the BF Patterns Taylor Trousers, on repeat. The repetition has been soothing.
My first two pairs were the flat front view in heavy twill and then in fleece-backed twill. This pair is View A, the pleated front option! Size 20 from Range 1.
For fabric, I used this stunning deadstock Italian wool blend from Stash. This incredibly soft fabric is a 7 ounce blend of wool, lyocell and polyester. It's got a mini houndstooth design in black and navy on a light grey background. Beautiful drape and perfect for the pattern.
I skipped the back pockets on this pair- I don't love how welt pockets look on my bum, and the patch pockets didn't seem right with this fabric or style.
In these photos I'm noticing some pulling at the front of the waistband, although it doesn't feel tight. I think I need to fiddle with the closures a bit to get it to lay more nicely. I was lazy and just did one interior button when it's supposed to be a two-closure situation.
