This past Me-Made-May I noticed that I was wearing my Closet Core Patterns Jenna shirt constantly. By itself, as a layer... I reached (reach!) for it regularly.
I decided it would be a good idea to make a few more neutral-colored Jenna shirts. I like layering the Jenna with vests, sweaters and fun coats and cardigans.
The pattern is, of course, the Closet Core Patterns Jenna Shirt, a loose fit, drop shoulder shirt with a deep back yoke, chest pocket, traditional shirt collar and collar stand, and a long sleeve with a classic tower placket and cuff.
Like my last couple Jennas, I cut a size 1X for both of these shirts.
The white shirt (not sure why the color looks so weird in these photos!) is made from a crisp, lovely textured cotton from Stash (now sold out, but fingers crossed it comes back because I love this stuff).
The stripes are a lightweight cotton seersucker shirting. You might remember I used a cousin of this fabric for another button up shirt ages ago when I was still living in Bangkok. Soft, but crisp, lightweight cotton fabric. Black and charcoal grey stripes.
I bought the fabric from a store in Bangkok's Chinatown that had what seemed like garment fabrics that fell off the back of a truck. But lots of hidden, unique gems, and the price was right at 3 meters for 100 Thai Baht (the equivalent of about US$2.90 at the time).
I played with the stripe direction a bit with the pockets, cuffs and yokes, for a bit of visual interest.
I did double buttons on the wide cuffs.
