After a couple of wadders (a Victory Patterns Roxanne made from nightmarishly slippery and shreddy fabric turned out too tight across the shoulders, a Workroom Social Tate top had irredeemably low armholes), I needed a refreshing, simple make. Bonus points for being able to use stash fabric.

Phakhaoma Buttonfront Maya
Several months ago I bought a stack of traditional Thai handwoven plaid fabric at Chatuchak market from Nuala-Or. The fabric, a lightweight, loosely woven cotton fabric called "phakhaoma," came pre-cut in this narrow (32"), double-border piece. You can read more about traditional uses for phakhaoma here and check out some Thai artisans trying to revive the fabric with modern options.

Batik Ilsley Skirt
I've been so enamored with my Maya tops, when Marilla Walker offered up her Ilsley Skirt pattern, I pounced on it. Such a cute basic skirt, plus, it's free!

Georgia Tee x Three
I recently made three versions of the Elizabeth Suzann Georgia tee, a favorite pattern of mine, all from stash fabric. Such a satisfying, palette-cleansing sew! And a wearable basic.

Me Made May: Week 3 Round-up
Me Made May Week 3 round-up... tried to do better on taking daily photos this week! They're pretty terrible (blame it on extremely poor light in my closet where the full length mirror is, combined with an inability to take selfies), but they're photos.

Top 5 of 2015
I know it's cliche to say this, but, wow, where did 2015 go?!! I meant to post this before year-end, but my Aussie holiday was all-consuming. Meaning I consumed everything in Australia: caramel slices, flat whites, sausage rolls, etc. But I digress...
It's time for the Top 5 Sewing Hits and Misses again, the brainchild of Gillian at Crafting a Rainbow. I'm not adhering to her format exactly, but she loves a good hack, so I think she'll understand!

Me-Made-May 2017: Mid-Month Roundup
Here's the mid-month update on my Me-Made-May pledge (in which you see how infrequently I bother to dry/do my hair in Bangkok's heat)! I've been sharing daily in Instagram stories, but here is the first half of the month all in one place.

Me-Made-May Wrap-up
Here's my second and final Me Made May wrap-up! I stayed true to my pledge to wear something me-made every day. Many times I wore more than one me-made. I did discover that, in addition to more me-made pants, I could use a couple more basic, solid layering tops to go under cardigans and blazers and/or tucked into skirts. I'm on it.
It's been really fun seeing everyone's makes in action/in the wild! However, until next May... don't expect any more selfies from me! #selfiefatigue
