Oooh, I am excited about this project!
It's not really a traditionally exciting project, but I am excited nonetheless! It's a true wardrobe staple today... one of those garments that will be worn weekly because it's so simple and yet so good, and goes with everything. Read all the details on the Imagine Gnats blog.
These are the Closet Case Patterns Sasha trousers, classic tailored stretch woven trousers. I've really been wanting to make a pair of black Sasha trousers, knowing they would slide right into regular rotation my handmade wardrobe. The Imagine Gnats shop had the perfect stretch twill in stock!
My Sasha trousers are size 18, cropped, and super sleek with no pockets and belt loops. However, I did add a little fun detail of my own: pintucks down the center of the front legs. I have an old pair of RTW pants similar to the Sashas that have that detail and I just love it. Head to the Imagine Gnats blog to read about how I made the tucks!
I am delighted with these Sasha pants! I mean, I could make a few fitting tweaks, yes. Coincidentally, I'm talking about pants fitting tweaks on Instagram this week as part of Sew Photo Hop, thinking I need low butt, full calf and back thigh shortening to deal with these wrinkles. But I am happy with these Sashas and am happily wearing them anyway, wrinkles be damned! Here I've paired here with one of my favorite handmade tops, a batik Marilla Walker Maya.
