The highest compliment that can be made concerning a handmade item is that it's worn out...
A few years back I made Tim a Helen's Closet Jackson Pullover out of batik cotton/lycra jersey and it has become a favorite of his.
It's not quite worn out, but it's definitely faded and well-loved.
He travels internationally for work and has found that the Jackson in a great travel top.
Cool and unique, but totally comfy for long flights.
I had another piece of the same jersey fabric, in a different print, in my stash, and figured I should make him another one.
The fabric is so beautiful. It's a batik-themed printed jersey I bought in at Pithcanthropus in Bali when we lived in Indonesia.
The batik motif has birds, foliage and berries in a beautiful combination of earthy colors.
For the Jackson Pullover, I went with the same tried-and-true size and view that I've used for his other Jackson Pullovers.
This Jackson is a size 18 in View D, the longer pullover with long sleeves and a hem band.
I lengthened the sleeves by 2.5 inches and the body by 1/2 inch for Tim.
I think this looks pretty fabulous on Tim. Great colors, great fit... hopefully it becomes a favorite like his others!
