Tobin Sweater in Wool Ponte

I've had this beautiful olive green wool ponte in my stash for years... it was high time to make something with it!

I got the fabric in Montreal years ago (2019!) when I went to Montreal for Frocktails. I can't remember which store. I think it was a bit expensive, so I didn't get much of it, and I was having trouble figuring out what to use it for!

I decided it would make a great simple but classy sweater for work.

I pulled out my trusty Cashmerette Tobin sweater pattern. I've made this pattern before, several times, but thought the simplest version of it would work well for my wool ponte.

This is a (sort of) View C from the Tobin pattern, minus the colorblocking, just like the red version I made a few years back. It's got a straight hem, hemmed sleeves and a faced neckline.

This is a size 20 C/D.

Both to fit it on my fabric and also because I like the proportions better, I cropped it the hem by about 2 inches so it would hit at the high hip.

I also hemmed the sleeves a bit shorter, too, by 1.5 inches.

Pretty smitten with my Tobin! Great color, great fit, classy look.
