Joining in the summer fun that is Maker Mountain Fabric's #HaveLegsWillWearShorts summer sewing adventure!
I love the Closet Core Patterns Pietra shorts I made for this sewing challenge last summer, and I was itching to make another pair since I've worn them a bunch.
I'm finding I'm more comfortable wearing shorts than I have been in the past. I don't know if that's age, growing comfort with my weight/body, or just a DGAF/nothing matters anymore response to current events, but it is what it is and my legs feel free.
I trawled my stash for fitting fabrics and found the perfect piece: a remnant of mid-weight non-stretch denim. I honestly can't remember what I made with the rest of the piece, but I had juuuust enough to eke out the Pietra shorts with some creative cutting.
Same as last summer, I cut a straight size 18, which worked well. Some mild upper butt bunching, which happens on my purple-y pair, too, but honestly my shirt always covers that. I just have it pulled up for these photos.
The shorts come together so quickly, too. Just a couple hours and they're ready for action.
I'm so happy with these shorts! I'll definitely get a lot of wear out of them in this versatile fabric.
Paired here with my True Bias Lodo dress turned t-shirt (cut at the hip marking).
