Cropped Closet Case Patterns Kalle in Linen

More linen from me. Can't stop, won't stop. Bring on the wrinkles.

This my second white linen shirt of the month, the first being the Classic Shirt. While this cropped Closet Case Patterns Kalle is not a classic yet, so many people have made it that maybe it will become a classic!

This is my third Kalle, but my first cropped version. I wasn't sure I could pull it off, but now that's I've made it, I am so happy I did!

It is cuuuuute! I love the deep hem facing and the dramatic high-low hem.

It pairs perfectly with my high-waist No.7 Vanløse pants. Fabulous proportions without showing any belly.

I even like it buttoned all the way up! Normally buttoning shirts like this makes me feel claustrophobic, but the neck/collar situation on the Kalle is quite comfy. And the closed neck balances the cropped length.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Thanks for the linen, Fabric Mart! You can see my two shirt side-by-side over on the Fabricistas blog!

Note: I received the white linen from Fabric Mart, but all of my opinions are my own.

  1. Great proportions with those pants! The cropped Kalle is on my to-sew list for summer, too. It's a great pattern, definitely on the verge of classic :)

  2. I love it! The kalle is definitely on my list of patterns to try and I would love to have one identical to this white one.

  3. We call those status wrinkles in linen. Enjoy them.

  4. Love it! Over the years I've learned that even if I'm not sure about a new Closet Case pattern when it first launches, I'll get obsessed with it a year or two later! She always manages to be leading the pack! Your white shirt/wide trousers combo is really chic and modern!

  5. I have just pulled out my summer clothes and already have 2 white linen shirts- nit that I wear a lot of white- but now I am very tempted to make a white cropped Kalle! Love it!

  6. Oooh, the cropped version looks great on you!!! I'm currently working on the Doe and Deer Melitot, which has similar sleeves. Hopeful it will be my new fave!
